The Alaska segment explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas and NGLs. The Lower 48 segment consists of operations located in the 48 contiguous U.S. states and the Gulf of Mexico. The Canada segment refers to oil sands development in the Athabasca Region of northeastern Alberta and a liquids-rich unconventional play in western Canada. The Europe, Middle East, and North Africa segment includes operations in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea, Qatar, Libya, Equatorial Guinea and commercial and terminalling operations in the U.K. The Asia Pacific segment focuses on explorations and product operations in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia. The Other International segment handles exploration activities in Columbia and Argentina. The company was founded by Isaac Elder Blake on November 25, 1875 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.
