Crypto liquidations topped $1 billion on Friday for the second time this week as Bitcoin (BTC) slid below $109,000.According to Coinglass&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coinglass.com/LiquidationData">data</a>, 24-hour liquidations later eased to $970 million, led by Ethereum (ETH) at $312 million and Bitcoin at $244 million, after briefly spiking as high as $1.5 billion earlier in the day.&nbsp;Meanwhile, Deribit data&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/DeribitOfficial/status/1971158176310382791">indicates</a> more than $22 billion in crypto options are set to expire on Friday, with most of the open interest concentrated on calls. According to the exchange, this is “one of the largest” quarter-end expiries and the largest expiry of the third quarter (Q3) this year.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> traded around $108,949, off 2.3% in the past 24 hours and 12.2% below its August record high above $124,000, according to CoinGecko data. XRP Tops Altcoins As Crypto Markets Stabilize After $1.68 Billion Futures Liquidation

Bitcoin’s fall to $113,000 pushed futures open interest down to $42.8 billion, which Glassnode called a “healthy reset” that could stabilize derivatives markets and reduce liquidation risk.

The U.K. and U.S. are teaming up to strengthen cross-border collaboration on digital assets and capital markets, a move that could ease the way for crypto firms looking to operate on both sides of the Atlantic.The announcement comes after U.K. Chancellor Rachel Reeves hosted U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at Downing Street last week for a joint industry roundtable, where officials outlined plans for a ‘Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future.’&nbsp;The group will deliver recommendations within 180 days on how to coordinate policy for emerging financial technologies, including digital assets, stablecoins, and tokenized securities. “This is about unlocking opportunities for investors, businesses, and market participants on both sides of the Atlantic,” a Treasury official said.In an official blog <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coinbase.com/en-in/blog/strengthening-the-US-UK-partnership-for-markets-of-the-future">post</a>, Coinbase (COIN) expressed support for the U.S.-U.K. partnership, saying it should focus on tokenizing traditional financial assets to enable the launch and distribution of stocks across both markets. The exchange also called for a transatlantic stablecoin corridor allowing pound-backed and dollar-backed stablecoins to be used in wholesale markets and payments.&nbsp;"Together, these two nations can unlock deeper liquidity, broader financial participation, and new capital for businesses, driving innovation, growth, and financial inclusion," stated Daniel Seifert, Vice President and Regional Managing Director, EMEA at Coinbase.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/COIN">Coinbase’s stock</a> fell nearly 3.5% in midday trade on Monday, mirroring the selloff in the crypto market.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s (BTC) price</a> was trading at around $112,700, having fallen 2.4% in the last 24 hours. However, retail sentiment around the apex cryptocurrency moved to ‘bullish’ from ‘neutral’ territory.&nbsp;Meanwhile, U.S. equities were in the green on Monday. Major cryptocurrencies advanced in the early hours of Wednesday, ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s crucial decision on benchmark interest rates later in the day.Bitcoin advanced 1% to $117,170 and touched a four-week high at the time of writing. Ethereum was up 0.7% to $4,514.02, while XRP gained 1.3% to $3.02. Bitcoin (BTC) has inched higher after weeks of sideways trading, but remains nearly 3% below its late-August high of more than $118,000 and 7%&nbsp;below its previous record&nbsp;of $124,000. At the time of writing,&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> had gained 0.5% in the last 24 hours, with retail sentiment on Stocktwits trending in ‘bearish’ territory over the past day.&nbsp;Ethereum (ETH), meanwhile, has pulled back after setting a fresh record of more than $4,900 last month, with traders eyeing $5,000 if policy signals turn dovish.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/ETH.X">Ethereum’s price</a> fell 0.3% in the last 24 hours, trading at around $4,500 at the time of writing. Dogecoin, Shiba Inu Slide After $2.4 Million Hack On Shibarium Ripples Through Crypto Market

Bitcoin was up in the early hours on Monday, but XRP and Ethereum edged lower, ahead of a much-anticipated Federal Reserve meeting in which the central bank is widely expected to reduce its benchmark interest rates.The apex cryptocurrency gained 0.4% to $116,514 over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum slipped 0.6% to $4,661.57, and XRP fell 0.6% to $3.06, at the time of writing, according to CoinGecko data. Among other tokens, Dogecoin was down 4.4% to $0.28, following a rally last week.According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin spot ETFs logged their best week since July after raking in $2.34 billion in the week ended on Sept. 12. On Friday, BlackRock’s IBIT ETF attracted $264.7 million while Fidelity’s FBTC ETF saw inflows of $315.2 million.After a tepid start to the month, digital tokens have found a firmer footing as a growing number of companies are adding cryptocurrencies to their balance sheets. This increased buying activity comes ahead of a likely rate cut in the U.S. central bank’s policy-setting meeting on Sept. 16-17.According to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, over 96% traders have priced in a 25-basis-point cut.
