The chipmaker’s stock has been on a three-session losing streak amid broader market weakness and concerns about a potential bursting of the AI bubble. Since Monday, Nvidia’s stock has shed over 9%.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Trump Walks The Talk?</h2>The White House has ordered federal agencies to disallow Nvidia’s latest workaround chip, dubbed B30A, to China, the Information report said, citing three people familiar with the matter,&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/world/china/us-block-nvidias-sale-scaled-back-ai-chips-china-information-says-2025-11-07/">according</a> to Reuters. The B30A can reportedly be used to train large-language models&nbsp;across large clusters, a key requirement for many Chinese companies developing AI processes and applications.Following the setback, Nvidia is working on modifying the chip's design to appease U.S. authorities and obtain their approval.The rumored development comes close on the heels of President Donald Trump clarifying in a media interview on Sunday that Nvidia’s high-performance chips will not be shared with any other country, to keep the U.S. in the lead in the AI race.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Nvidia’s China Travails</h2>After Nvidia’s high-performance computing (HPC) AI accelerators were forbidden from shipping to China by the previous Biden administration, the company developed a trimmed-down version to comply with the regulation. The H20 China-specific AI chip that Nvidia developed to sidestep the ban drew scrutiny from the White House under Trump, and its exports were banned in April of this year.Huang’s lobbying to&nbsp;resume sales yielded results when the government signaled its intention to comply. That said, neither Nvidia nor its peer AMD, which was also impacted by the ban, has included contribution from the chip in their revenue outlook issued since then. Huang was in the news this week when he issued a warning&nbsp;about the AI threat posed by China, but later came on to soften his comments, stating that the U.S. was still “nanoseconds” ahead in the AI race.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Retail Feels About Nvidia Stock</h2>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment toward Nvidia stock remained ‘bullish’ as of late Thursday, although the mood tempered from the ‘extremely bullish’ outlook seen a week ago. By then, the analyst expects handset revenue to be decisively below 50% of total revenue, and automotive and IoT are expected to grow at a double-digit year-over-year (YoY) rate.The analyst noted that the management continues to expect its market share at Apple to decline to 20% by September 2026. This, combined with a shift from a 100% to a 75% share at Samsung in the March Quarter, prompted the analyst to forecast flat to lower annual revenue through fiscal year 2027. This could be augmented by revenue related to artificial intelligence (AI).Gerra also noted that incremental, AI-related opex will likely increase by $15 million to $20 million per quarter, starting in the March quarter. That said, he remained skeptical of the company’s AI opportunity at hyperscalers.While maintaining an ‘Outperform’ rating, the analyst reduced the price target for the stock to $200 from $216.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Qualcomm Q4 Earnings, Outlook</h2>The fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share (EPS) and revenue came in at $3 and $11.3 billion, respectively, exceeding the Fiscal.ai-compiled consensus estimates of $2.87 and $10.76 billion.Qualcomm’s first-quarter guidance calls for adjusted EPS of $3.30-$3.50 and revenue of $11.8 billion-$12.6 billion. Qualcomm Analyst Reduces Price Target On Lack Of Conviction About Near-Term Fundamentals — Stock Slips Premarket After Q4 Print

The company's market capitalization fell to $4.76 trillion from $4.84 trillion.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Huang Clarifies</h2>In a statement&nbsp;shared on Nvidia's Newsroom handle on X, the Nvidia CEO said, "As I have long said, China is nanoseconds behind America in AI. It's vital that America wins by racing ahead and winning developers worldwide."It all started when the Financial Times carried a <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.ft.com/content/53295276-ba8d-4ec2-b0de-081e73b3ba43">story</a> headlined "Nvidia's Jensen Huang Says China Will Win AI Race With US" based on an exclusive interview with him on the sidelines of the publication's AI summit.Huang lamented that the West, including the U.S. and U.K., was being held back by "cynicism," adding that "We need more optimism." To make his case, he highlighted the new AI regulations in the U.S., which, in turn,&nbsp;could spawn "50 new regulations." In contrast, he noted that energy subsidies in China have made power more affordable for tech companies.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why It's Important</h2>President Donald Trump, whose administration has further restricted AI chip exports to China, has repeatedly maintained that the U.S. holds the pole position in the AI race. As recently as this Sunday, while appearing on CBS's "60 Minutes," Trump <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/nvidia-investors-shrug-off-trump-s-blackwell-ai-chip-s-us-exclusivity-comment/cL2Nb19R3zP">said</a> the U.S. wouldn't allow Nvidia to sell its most advanced, high-performance computing Blackwell chip to China."The most advanced, we will not let anybody have them other than the United States." He also claimed that the U.S. is winning the AI race, and allowing other countries access to high-performance AI chips, such as Nvidia's Blackwell, would give them an "equal" advantage.Nvidia and AMD once derived sizeable revenue from China, selling these chips to the country. After the Biden administration imposed curbs, these companies developed workarounds, such as Nvidia H20 and AMD MI308, with stepped-down performance to sidestep the ban. The Trump administration has since then restricted the exports of these chips. The outlook provided by both Nvidia and AMD now excludes contributions from Chinese AI chips.Huang hasn't been one to mince words and has warned on multiple occasions that ignoring China in the grand scheme of AI would be a detrimental approach. During Nvidia's second-quarter earnings call in late August, Huang stated that the Chinese market&nbsp;represents a $50 billion opportunity for the company this year, provided it addresses it with competitive offerings. (AMD) stock received a price target boost following the chipmaker’s third-quarter results, but the stock slid over 4% in Wednesday’s early premarket session.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AMD">AMD’s stock</a> elicited a bullish reaction from retailers on the Stocktwits platform.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AMD Analyst Looks Ahead To Next Big Catalysts</h2>With earnings in the rearview, Baird analyst Tristan Gerra now looked ahead to AMD’s financial analyst day, scheduled for Nov. 11. The analyst expects the company to raise its artificial intelligence (AI) total addressable market (TAM) estimate, which is currently at $500 billion. Gerra also sees the ramp of MI450 as another drive for the stock.“Potential resumption of MI308 shipments, for which there is no visibility currently, would also bring material upside,” the analyst said. MI308 is AMD’s China-specific AI chip. The company said in its earnings release that its fourth-quarter revenue outlook did not include any contribution from the chip.Gerra said he sees meaningful upside for the stock from current levels based on his expectations of $12 in 2028 earnings per share (EPS). He clarified that the estimate does not embed the full OpenAI ramp. The chipmaker inked a multi-billion-dollar, multi-year deal with OpenAI in October to deploy 6 gigawatts (GW) of AMD GPUs.That said, the analyst believes that the focus will be on execution.Gerra maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating for the stock and raised the price target to $300 from $240, implying about 20% upside from the stock’s Monday close.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AMD’s Near-term Bright</h2>Baird stated that hyperscalers are significantly increasing their general-purpose compute capacity, with larger CPU build-outs coming in the next few quarters to support increased AI. Client and Gaming revenue jumped 73% to $4 billion, with client revenue&nbsp;setting another record at 46% YoY growth and Gaming sales soaring 181%.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AMD’s Q4 Outlook</h2>For the fourth quarter, AMD forecast revenue of approximately $9.6 billion, plus or minus $300 million, compared to the $9.20 billion consensus. The company also clarified that the revenue outlook did not include any revenue from its China-specific MI308 AI chip shipments. The company also guided gross margin to be about 54.5%.
